Welcome!

My name is Karly Merrill. I am a physical therapist and own a private practice, FMP Physical Therapy (Karly Decker Physical Therapy, PLLC).   I teach Pilates, Tai Chi, and other Wellness classes through my Pilates studio,  Free Movement Pilates, LLC. My husband Marc and I have two fun-loving, hysterical, creative daughters, Olivia (5) and Mia (2.5), and two dogs, Flounder, our lazy bulldog (now deceased), and Brody, our high energy mixed pom/shepherd mix.   I grew up in Bethlehem and graduated from BCHS. My husband is from Yonkers, but relocated to Albany after college and is blessed to have a second family of fabulous friends locally.  We love our family, our friends, being active outdoors, dancing in our kitchen, and a good beer. It's all about balance, right?    We are so excited to announce the completion of our new community wellness space in Delmar.  Our goal is to create a shared community space where multiple practitioners and small business owners can thrive together, and support our local residents reach their health, wellness, and fitness goals!  

My small business, Free Movement Pilates, was shut down for 6 months in 2020. When it reopened, we functioned at 50% for the next 6 months. I was faced with a big question as I navigated balancing work, family, and the stress of managing a facility.  Do I  close my doors and work independently from my home office, or try to find a space where I could move my business into?  I wanted to be a part of something bigger. I reached out to local business owners to seek strategies to move forward, and suggestions for how to navigate these unprecedented times.   We were all doing the best we could.  An opportunity presented itself, and with the support of my family, I have decided to rebrand, move my studio, and create the space I have longed to be a part of; and RISE Wellness Delmar was born.   I look forward to growing and thriving along side other peers and professionals who have faced similar challenges this past year.  We survived, now we thrive.  #strongertogether   - Karly Merrill

Free Movement Pilates, LLC will continue to house our Pilates apparatus classes, and information about the Pilates services offered in the space are still available at www.freemovementpilates.com  

During the business restructuring, rebranding process, RISE Wellness Delmar was born and is a wellness community that supports local practitioners and our shared clients.  All of the wellness providers and fitness instructors are independent contractors and practitioners who share the wellness space and our community for their individual practices.  Please reach out directly to the practitioner you are interested in working with directly to inquire about their services, schedules, and rates.
